First Aid First Ltd. Certificate of Training

Tena koutou, Talofa, Malo lele,i Namaste, Ni hao ma, Bula vinaka, Kia orana, my teaching journey in Early Childhood began 20 years ago.

I have worked in a diverse range of Early Childhood settings, which has given me a wide range of knowledge and experience to share with other kaiako and each of the tamariki I am privileged to teach

I believe that all children have a right to education, starting from an early age.

Children’s learning is supported by teachers, peers, family, whanau and the wider community, working together to create a partnership in the learning environment, home and community.

I look forward to meeting you and starting your journey at Little Sunbeams.

Kia Ora, my teaching journey began at 18 as a reliever, during the last 30 years of teaching I have seen many changes to Early Childhood Education.

Te Whaariki is a hugely important taonga to our tamariki and their whanau, it recognizes the holistic side of learning for our tamariki during their learning years which builds the foundation of their learning and development as well as their identity.

I have been working at Little Sunbeams since May 2006. Teaching our children is a privilege and a blessing to be treasured and nurtured every day.

Mellissa – Teacher
(Bach ECE) Teacher, Registered

I have been working with children since 2003 and  finished training  with New Zealand Tertiary College in 2008.

Since completing my studies I have been part of the staff at Little Sunbeams. Working with the team I provide a stimulating environment that emotionally and physically nurtures our tamariki.  I love providing challenges through various activities, songs and resources to help stretch and grow our tamariki helping them discover their God given strengths and abilities.

In my spare time I enjoy volunteering at a variety of camps that work with both able-minded children and those who have disabilities.

As a teacher I believe each tamariki is special and they bring their own wealth of knowledge into our center. I treasure my job, I get the privilege of investing into and working alongside the future generation.   Looking forward to getting to know you and your whanau.

Kia ora, hello and Ni hao! My name is Betty Hao and I was originally from China.

Although the languages I speak fluently are Mandarin and English, I do have great passionate for  learning Te Reo Maori. I have been in ECE teaching since 2010 in Auckland. By gaining multiple qualifications, this has offered me a deep and thorough knowledge of how to support children’s developments holistically. Also, having a caring, kind and loving nature has gifted me the suitable characters for being a great teacher. I am passionate about encouraging and empowering each child to discover and develop his/her own way of learning.

Being respectful for individual development and empowering children as an independent learner is my fundamental philosophy.
